Revamped Activations: Bring Your Own Activation Codes
Until now, the platform generated a random activation code for every device. That meant printing those codes onto packaging after the fact, and passing lists of codes to warehouses before anything could ship. With this release, you can use the code that’s already on the device, such as a serial number, IMEI or EUI. The platform no longer needs to generate one.
Use your own codes When creating an activation, partner users can now enter an existing code instead of generating one. Any format works as long as it’s a non-empty string of up to 256 characters. If you leave the code blank, the platform generates one as before, so existing workflows keep working.
Batch activations from a CSV Partner users can import a CSV file to create many activations at once. Each row can include its own code. After the import you’ll see which rows succeeded and which failed, with a reason for each failure, so you can fix and re-import only what’s needed.
Unique within your organization A code must be unique within your own partner organization, across all your device types. Creating a duplicate is rejected. Different partners can use the same code independently, and your codes can never be blocked by someone else’s. If an end user redeems a code that matches more than one device type, they’re asked to confirm which device they have.
Delete activations Partner users can now delete activations belonging to their partner organization.
